Review up at Faith & Family Live

Thank you Daria Sockey for a review after my own heart at Faith & Family Live blog! When asked  about who the book is for, I always say every one,  because we never know what life will bring us. The life lessons the writers in my book share, to trust God when you can't see how you can endure reality, to pray with your family, to see the beauty in those the world reject, these are sound advice to any Catholic in crisis.
And they are just plain beautiful when they share the unique gifts their children posses, gifts you might have missed while fussing about what they can't do.
So, thanks again to Daria for a prescient and timely review on my favorite blog, just in time for Mother's Day!

I'll be on "A Closer Look" radio program today

Sheila Liauguminas and I will be discussing my book, "A Special Mother is Born" and the gifts which special needs children bring to the world. Tune in at 6:00 PM EST and call in to ask me a question.
"A Closer Look" is on Relevant Radio.

Two books to buy for Mother's Day gifts

Author and special mom Amy Julia Becker was kind enough to plug my book on her blog, "Thin Places".
She suggests that moms deserve a good book or two for Mother's Day.
 I couldn't agree more!

Nancy Valko's review of "A Special Mother is Born" in "Voices"

I have always admired the advocacy for the unborn of  Nancy Valko, member of Women for Faith and Family and Secretary of Nurses for Life. I watcher her on "Faith & Culture" and never dreamed I would edit a book which would contain her story about her precious daughter Karen, who was born with Down syndrome. Her story, included in the review is Chapter 15, entitled, "The Hospital Visit".
It was an honor to work with her, and to publish a link to her excellent review here.

Defending the rights of disabled newborns

My book was in the works for three years, and I wondered why it took so long to get published. Now I know, it was needed precisely at a time like this, when we are actually defending the rights of newborns not to become victims of  "post-birth abortion". It is beyond tragic that we have proceeded so far down the slippery slope that we are opening discussing infanticide in our scientific journals.

EWTN show host Colleen Carroll Campbell defends the rights of newborns in her column in the St Louis Post Dispatch today, "What if Newborns Had No Rights?"
She also gives me a plug for "A Special Mother is Born".

I will be interviewed on Catholic TV in Boston tomorrow!

Here's the set where Fr Robert Reed (on the right) will interview me tomorrow for the Catholic TV morning show "This is the Day". to discuss the book.

I took this photo when we took a tour of the Catholic TV studio and saw this beautiful set donated by a secular news station in Boston.
After the live show, I will tape an interview with one of the ladies of "The Gist" a talk show for Catholic women.I have had the privilege of meeting Rachel Balducci and Danielle Bean at several events for Catholic Media, and Carolee McGrath interviewed me last month for "Reel to Reel" the TV show for the Diocese of Springfield. That show will be airing on March 24, and I will link to it here.
I am looking forward to doing the show, and attending the Mass before it, just not the morning commute, as the snow has been falling all day here in New England. Prayers would be greatly appreciated.
